Winfried is a tribute to the last victim of the Berlin Wall who, in March 1989, escaped by air in a makeshift balloon made of polyethylene.
This tragic flight is evoked here through the fragility of its material, the volumes and movements it evokes in the breath of a draft.
The image of the curtain called by the wind opens the frame on that of the window. A shift takes place between the sculptural aspect of the inflated sail and its pictorial escape towards the window, the veduta open to other perspectives, other stories, here on the one of the escape of Win (to win) fried (peace) ).
