On the path of Santiago de Compostela, known in French as « the eld of the star » (champ de l’étoile), Starsign is a nocturnal sign, an opaque and silent sign. The wood panels have been replaced by plates of enamelled black lava, surfaces that can re ect the stars. The format of the former signage was used to achieve this (the signs were being replaced by new, nationwide hiking signs). The memory of these old signs appears like a shadow, about to disappear forever.
